Friday, 31/07/2026

To promote the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in corporate management and operations, as well as the development of a digital workforce, from July 27 to 29, 2026, the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Center organized an intensive training course titled "Application of AI in Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Project Management and Supervision" for the management, engineering, and technical staff of the Ho Chi Minh City Urban Drainage Company Limited (UDC).

This is a training program for which the HCMC Digital Transformation Center directly surveyed the needs, designed the content, and organized the implementation. It aims to help the enterprise effectively utilize AI tools in project management, improve labor productivity, optimize workflows, and gradually build project management capacity on a digital platform.

Practical Training Focused on Application Efficiency

With a duration of 24 hours, the program was developed using modern training methods, combining foundational knowledge, skill instructions, and intensive practice based on the enterprise's actual records, data, and real-life scenarios.

Trainees were introduced to and practiced on various popular AI platforms, including ChatGPT, Claude AI, Google Gemini, NotebookLM, and Microsoft Copilot, thereby gradually forming the skills to apply AI in their daily work.

The course content focused on three main competency groups:

·   Planning & Assessment: Applying AI in project planning, design document analysis, developing Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), scheduling, and risk assessment.

·   Execution & Supervision: Applying AI in construction management, site supervision, management of quality, materials, equipment, occupational safety, and progress reporting.

·   Completion & Handover: Applying AI in project acceptance, as-built documentation, project handover, final settlement, and project summary.

Notably, 70% of the program's duration was dedicated to practice. This allowed trainees to directly build prompt systems for their work, apply AI to synthesize data, analyze documents, draft reports, automate routine tasks, and support decision-making in project management.

Through the "hands-on" method, trainees were not only equipped with knowledge but were also able to immediately apply AI tools to their work upon completing the course.

Accompanying Enterprises to Enhance Digital Capabilities

In the context where AI is becoming a crucial driver of digital transformation, equipping management and engineering staff with AI application skills not only helps improve labor productivity but also contributes to innovating management methods, increasing operational quality, and enhancing the enterprise's competitiveness.

For the urban technical infrastructure sector, AI can provide support throughout the project lifecycle—from planning, analyzing design documents, tracking progress, and managing construction quality, to acceptance, final settlement, and document archiving. Effectively leveraging AI tools will help reduce processing time, increase accuracy, and assist managers in making quick, effective decisions.

Affirming the Role of the HCMC Digital Transformation Center in Developing the Digital Workforce

The training course for UDC further affirms the role of the HCMC Digital Transformation Center in researching, developing, and implementing intensive training programs on digital transformation and AI application for agencies, units, and enterprises across the City.
